The Board of Directors for Edmonton Screen Industries Office (ESIO) announced today that CEO, Tom Viinikka, will be leaving his position to take over as CEO of Edmonton Unlimited effective May 15, 2024.

Since joining the ESIO in March 2021, Tom has been instrumental in setting a new direction for the organization, developing a bold strategic plan, working closely with partners in Edmonton’s screen industries and others in the city and across the province, and helping elevate Edmonton’s presence on the provincial, national and international stage. We wish him the very best in his new role with Edmonton Unlimited.

Dorian Rowe, currently the Edmonton Film Commissioner, will take over as acting CEO for the next six months, beginning May 15. Dorian’s past experience in interactive digital media, film and television in Newfoundland and Labrador, along with his passion for the growth of the cultural industry, positions him well to step into this interim role and ensures continuity of ESIO’s programming and strategic direction.
