Request for Proposal: Audit Services Provider

Edmonton Screen is seeking proposals from qualified public accounting firms to provide external financial audit services for a three year term beginning with the 2026 fiscal year.

Edmonton Screen is inviting proposals from qualified public accounting firms to provide external financial audit services for a three year period, beginning with the fiscal year ending December 31, 2026, with the option to renew for additional years.

As Edmonton Screen continues to support the growth of Edmonton and Northern Alberta's film, TV, digital media, and technology industries, an independent audit process supports our governance, funder accountability, and financial transparency.

Scope of Work

The successful proponent will be expected to support the following:

Annual Audit: Conduct an independent audit of Edmonton Screen's financial statements in accordance with Canadian Auditing Standards (CAS), and express an opinion in accordance with Canadian Accounting Standards for Not-for-Profit Organizations (ASNPO).
Internal Controls & Compliance: Assess internal controls relevant to financial reporting, and review compliance with applicable legislation, funding agreements, and internal policies.
Reporting & Governance: Prepare an audit report and opinion for inclusion in Edmonton Screen's annual financial statements, deliver a management letter with recommendations for internal control improvements, and attend one committee meeting and one Board meeting to present audit results.

Who Should Apply

Licensed public accounting firms authorized to practice in Alberta are invited to submit proposals. Demonstrated experience auditing nonprofit organizations and/or public sector entities is required, along with familiarity with ASNPO and CAS.
