Baron Camera Ltd. is the production service company owned and operated by Cinematographer David Baron. David Baron is a cinematographer from Edmonton, Alberta, who brings an unmistakable visual style to narrative, documentary, and commercial projects. In 2023, he received a Canadian Screen Award nomination for his photography on “Wild Rose Vet.” Known for his knack for pushing boundaries across genres and formats, David's recent projects include “This Too Shall Pass”, a coming-of-age feature starring Maxwell Jenkins, Mark McKinney, and Michael Ironside and “Blind Ambition: The Wop May Story”, a documentary shot on 35mm anamorphic that leans hard into classic cinema aesthetics. A sucker for photochemical processes, David keeps an arsenal of heritage equipment—including specialty lenses, 16mm cameras, and even a Steenbeck flatbed editor—alongside a full darkroom. With an eye for cinematic whimsy and a technical finesse that pulls every frame to its full potential, David balances bold, commercial looks with a gentler hand for storytelling.
