Edmonton screen media – what a year! It’s time to reflect on everything our community has accomplished this year. We’d like to express our gratitude to our Board, partners, the City of Edmonton, and all the friends we met along the way to make this all possible. Thank you for trusting us.

Community news and upcoming projects…
Before I Change My Mind was listed as one of the “10 Must-See Movies” at the 2022 Locarno Film Festival in Switzerland. They also won 6 awards including three awards for best cinematography (Wes Miron), best scripted feature (Katrina Beatty & Alyson Richards), and best screenwriter (Fish Griwkowsky & Trevor Anderson) for the Rosie Awards.
Skinamarink is an upcoming 2023 Canadian horror film written and directed by Kyle Edward Ball. This low-budget horror film has had its premiere at the 2022 Fantasia International Film Festival in Montreal and has been picking up steam ever since. It’s something to look forward to in the new year.
Wrestling horror movie, Dark Match, wrapped up for productions at Dept. 9 Studios. As reported by Deadline, star Chris Jericho is set to play as a lead cast alongside Steven Ogg (The Walking Dead), Sara Canning (The Vampire Diaries), Michael Eklund (Wyonna Earp), Jonathan Cherry (Goon), and Ayisha Issa (Transplant).
And of course, The Last Us is also scheduled to premiere in 2023.
Nightingale by Inflexion Studios Inc. has finished development and set to launch 2023. The game takes you on a journey of survival and adventure, into the mysterious realms as you explore, craft, build, and fight across the Gaslamp Fantasy world.
After a year of collaboration with Calgary Economic Development, Tourism Calgary, Explore Edmonton, and the Alberta Esports Association, the ESIO is thrilled to announce the new Alberta Esports Strategy.
Another win from #TeamAlberta, the ESIO partnered up with Digital Alberta and other partners to host the first instalment of the Alberta Game Series. This provincial event has brought together all levels of our industry for two days of programming and networking. Stay tuned for the 2023 date announcement for Edmonton!
And with that, the 2022 season comes to an end.
