A location scout helps bring a script to life by providing suitable location options to the creative team during the pre-production stage of filmmaking. Learn what it takes to become a location scout in the Edmonton region. At the end of this course participants will learn new location scouting techniques and will practice such skills in preparing and executing an effective scout trip.
ABOUT THE INSTRUCTORS:
Samantha Quantz is the Locations Officer at the Edmonton Screen Industries Office. She has over 7 years experience in locations and production management. She has taught production classes with the DGC and Justice4Reel Film School program.
Alex McGregor has over 10 years of experience in the locations department, including scouting and managing on over 22 productions. Some of his production credits include: The Revenant, Togo and “Rust City”- aka Ghostbusters: Afterlife.
